He explained that Sriwijaya Kingdom was a Malay kingdom on the island of Sumatra and had a great influence on the archipelago. The territory of the Srivijaya Kingdom which included Cambodia, Thailand, the Malay Peninsula, and even Java.

With the existence of the Sriwijaya ship fragment site in Banyuasin this opens up opportunities for cultural awakening which is certainly expected to have a sale value to the treasury. the culture of South Sumatra and Indonesia, “he said.
The condition of the site, he said, is under the supervision and authority of the national archeology center, which of course we hope can be coordinated with these institutions to be exploited for cultural development for community empowerment and become a Banyuasin community tourism generation.
“In addition, we are assisted by a number of Multistakeholders. One of the Tandipulau foundations will make a study and raise the icon of the Sriwijaya ship as an icon of the Banyuasin Regency Government as the gateway to the triumph of Srivijaya,” he said.
This icon can be studied and considered as the cultural treasury of Banyuasin district and needs to be followed up in the form of scientific studies in the shortest possible time so that the culture of Banyuasin district can be elevated and become the selling point of Banyuasin community empowerment.
“The Research and Development Agency of the Banyuasin Regency in the near future will invite opd and related stakeholders to conduct FGDs to introduce and study in detail and invite multi-parties to get involved together to explore the history of the triumph of Sriwijaya in Banyuasin District,” he said.
“It is hoped that in the future the ship icon will be designed in the form of an integrated cultural museum that tells the history of Sriwijaya, the history of the banyuasin culture, the banyuasin government to the arts of culture, education, agriculture and all the potential of Banyuasin,” he stressed.
