Indonesian Scouts will participate in the Youth Exchange Program (YEP) with the National Cadet Corps (NCC) on 8-18 August 2022 in India.
Budi Waseso, Chairman of the Scout Movement Kwarnas, released the departure of the Scout Movement delegation on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at the Kalibata Heroes Cemetery, Jakarta, after a pilgrimage to commemorate the 61st Scout Day 2022.
“Brothers hope that you will be able to maintain a positive image of Indonesia, be disciplined to always participate in activities properly, and don’t forget to take care of your health,” said Kak Budi Waseso in a written statement quoted by Antara , Sunday (7/8/2022).
The Scout delegation will be accompanied by two male and female coaches from seven regional quarters.
The younger participants aged 18-22 from the seven Kwarda who passed the selection by the Indian Embassy Team, namely Putri Viola Kurnia from Kwarda DKI Jakarta, Tamara Ali Ihsan from Kwarda Babel, Inara Subhati from Kwarda Aceh, Zafira Naja Sakina from Kwarda DKI Jakarta, and Restu Nissa Hafiza from Kwarda West Kalimantan.
The five female delegates were accompanied by Vildy Zulhiz Maretha Dewi from Kwarda West Java as a female coach.
The male participants were Muhammad Ilham Saputra, Muhammad Fakhir Naufal, Rosyad Burhan, Zima Zikky Usma Holpan, the 4th from Kwarda DKI Jakarta, and Farhan Alwan Ramadhan from Kwarda Aceh.
The men’s delegation was accompanied by Miftahul Rachmat from Kwarda Banten as the men’s coach.
The Government of India youth exchange program was originally scheduled for January 2022 to attend the Republic Day of India ceremony but was canceled due to the increasing transmission of the corona virus in India and Indonesia.
Instead, the program was implemented in August 2022 to attend the 75th Independence Day of the Republic of India on 15 August 2022.
The enforcement Scouts will attend a series of gatherings and performing arts with cadets from the NCC in New Delhi.
The delegation will also attend the Indonesian Independence Day ceremony on 17 August 2022 at the Indonesian Embassy in New Delhi which will be led directly by the Indonesian Ambassador to India and the Kingdom of Bhutan, Ina Hagningtyas Krisnamurthi.
Bachtiar Utomo Secretary General of Kwarnas said this program is an opportunity for members of the Scout Movement to develop their potential and international insight.
In addition, it also fosters friendship, brotherhood and peace with members of other organizations abroad, especially with the Indian community.
Around 10 youth delegates from different countries were also invited by the Government of India, including from England, Wales, Scotland.(pur)
