Governor South Sumatra Herman Deru Inaugurates SMSC Support Hundred Thousand Young Enterpreneur

This inauguration is a real step in realizing the 100,000 Young Sultans program which was initiated to create a young generation with an entrepreneurial spirit in South Sumatra.
“SMSC will be a center for gathering great young people. We hope that they will not only aspire to become ASN, but also dare to penetrate the market and compete globally ,” said Herman Deru, Friday, May 16, 2025.
SMSC is designed as an entrepreneurial innovation center that provides training facilities, mentoring, and access to capital for aspiring young entrepreneurs.
Through collaboration with a number of organizations such as the Indonesian Young Entrepreneurs Association (HIPMI), the International Council for Small Business (ICSB), the Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), and others, SMSC is expected to become an ecosystem that supports the growth of young entrepreneurs in the regions.
Governor Herman Deru expressed his appreciation to OJK for providing part of the building as an activity space for the Young Sultans.
He emphasized that this place is not only a means of financial education, but also a forum for synergy between young entrepreneurs.
“In South Sumatra there are around 600,000 entrepreneurs. Our target of 100,000 Young Sultans is not just a number, but real. I hope HIPMI, ICSB, and Kadin can schedule regular meetings, not just during this inauguration,” he added.
He then, also encouraged partner organizations to assist the Young Sultans in managing their Business Identification Numbers (NIB), as an initial step in realizing a legal and orderly administrative business.
Furthermore, Herman Deru emphasized the importance of forming a strong entrepreneurial mentality.
“We can have a business, access, and capital. But if we don’t have a brave mentality, it will be difficult. We must be ready to face challenges,” he stressed it.
